Abortion Increases
Out-of-Wedlock Births and Murder Rates.
Researches have
found that an increase of abortion has led to an increase in
out-of-wedlock births and an increase in the murder rate.
A study suggests
that abortion increases out-of-wedlock births. In the late 1960s,
only 4.8 percent of births among whites were out-of-wedlock births.
In the 1980s that percentage rose to 16.1, and the percentage of
African-American out-of-wedlock births rose from 34.9 to 61.8
percent.
The study conducted
at Yale Law School found that when abortion was legalized, teens
began to engage in sexual intercourse outside of marriage more than
ever before. While this has led to many abortions, many women who do
not want an abortion are now giving birth to more out-of-wedlock
babies than ever before.
According to the
study, children born out-of-wedlock are more likely to end up in a
single parent home and eventually more likely to engage in crimes.
In fact, the study found that for every one percent increase in
abortion, the murder rate rises by .08 percent.
